Types of Drain Bolts

410 Clamp Post:   This type of fastener was created by Josam back in the 1920s.  The idea behind it was to use a lug to clamp the ring to the drain body instead of a bolt so that the roofing membrane was not punctured.  This type of fastener is not currently used by Josam.  However, when replacing drain rings in the 410 series by Josam the 410 Clamp Post is still required.


Eyebolt/25R:  This is one of Wade's versions of a non-penetrating fastener.  This fastener was only used by Wade prior to 1968.  This type of fastener is not currently used and is only required when replacing Wade clamp rings that were manufactured before 1968.
 

Hookbolt/33R:  This is another version of Wade's non-penetrating fastener and was only used from 1968 to 1982.  This type of fastener is not currently used and is only needed when replaced ing Wade clamp rings that were manufactured from 1968 to 1982.


Hex Screws or Threaded Studs:  All Drain fasteners that are now in use are either standard hex screws or threaded studs.  The size varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.  We manufacture a Protech Universal Bolt Kit that contains a variety of types and sizes of threaded studs and hex screws that should include a fastener to use with your application.
